TKMAXX EUROPE

TK Maxx – Halloween Character Creations

For a Halloween social campaign for TK Maxx, Patrick was commissioned to research, design and style four distinctive character looks inspired by some of pop culture’s most recognisable spooky archetypes.

The creative challenge was to make each character immediately familiar while ensuring the costumes remained firmly in the world of homage rather than direct recreation. Patrick developed the visual direction for each look through research and original design boards, reinterpreting familiar silhouettes, textures and character signatures through a more contemporary, fashion-led lens.

The costumes combined sourced and hired wardrobe with bespoke alterations and hand-finished elements. A brown suit was transformed through extensive patchworking, contrasting fabrics and exposed stitching to create a playful, pieced-together monster aesthetic, while gothic draping, exaggerated proportions, sharp pinstripe tailoring and unexpected flashes of colour helped establish the remaining characters.

Patrick also sourced and prepared the character wigs, working alongside Hair & Make-up on set to bring the complete transformations together.

With final casting and approvals arriving close to the shoot, the project moved rapidly from concept and research through sourcing, making, fittings and final styling.

The result was a playful collection of Halloween characters that felt instantly recognisable in spirit, while each retained its own newly designed identity.

Services: Historical Research, Costume Design, Bespoke Costume Construction

Patrick Jack was commissioned to design and create costumes for History in the Making, an immersive visitor experience at Rufford Abbey, part of the National Trust.

Working alongside an events production team, Patrick and his studio created a collection of historically inspired costumes representing real characters connected to the Abbey’s past.
